Knightshayes Court National Trust

Slightly further afield than our usual recommendations, but if you are a National Trust member, then Knightshayes is certainly worth the extra few minutes. In addition to the Victorian Manor house, and stunning gardens, there are acres of parkland waiting to be explored. With spots for den building, cloud spotting, trails to follow and a maize maze, there is also a fabulous play area made from fallen oak trees including a tree house and tunnels burrowed through the trunks. The Stables Café serves hot and cold drinks, brunch and light lunches; you are also welcome to picnic around the grounds.
